I really loved the point that Sarah Gottesdiener made about death not being the end, especially for those with mediumship abilities. I also especially appreciated the line of inquiry Rashunda Tramble introduced in death’s opposite being birth.

It reminded me of two things:

Once, I heard Martha Beck say: “The opposite of death is birth. Life has no opposite.”

And it also reminded me of hiking in a forest. Here in the Pacific Northwest, you often see felled trees, some as wide as you are tall. It’s hard to see them as truly “dead” tho, because they’re immediately decaying to support new life: moss, mushrooms, nesting habitats for birds, new SAPLINGS borrowing the root systems of their forebears.

Life has no opposite, indeed.

Thanks for the great interview, to all three of you! Excited for more.

@Shelby Bach - I immediately thought of the same Martha Beck quote!

The thought that followed was how Life could be viewed as a Liminal Space between the two; the place or state of change or transition.

Both Sarah and Rashunda beautifully highlighted the Thoth Tarot's depiction of Death as Vitality and Living. And as Heraclitus said, "change is the only constant in life."

My natal Aquarius Sun (6th House) squares my natal Uranus in Scorpio (4th House), so I am literally here for all the Transformations this Life has to offer; the more sudden, unexpected and even choatic, the better ;o)

Thank you, Natalie for this episode, for the Things That Die Podcast, for this Energy & Endings Community and all of your offerings.

With Gratitude,

Carie
