Why I'm not a fan of the 8/8 Lion's Gate portal
It’s funny I’ve sat down to write this on the morning of the 8/8 portal after driving over 4 hours back from Cornwall. To write what I’ve been feeling about the 8/8 Lion’s Gate portal… Was it a coincidence that my mileage dial on my car reached 18,888.8 today I think not- ( no picture- lol because I was driving!!!)
Walking to the cafe to write this, I just had a random conversation with a lovely woman called Lou who I met in the car park. She thought she knew me from a women’s co working space around the corner as I was carrying my laptop. We didn’t know each other but it turned out her Mum is Canadian and she used to live in Vancouver/Whistler….no chance encounters. She also does womb massage locally so it was a meeting that was meant to happen.
Lou commented once she asked what I did for a living that it was Lion’s Gate and that I must be feeling “on fire” as it’s 8/8. I didn’t mention that I was about to write this post about not jamming with 8/8 and definitely didn’t feel “on fire” in this portal. Although it has been a morning full of synchronicities!!!
So why write this post “Why I'm not a fan of the 8/8 Lion’s Gate portal”
I’m not going to write a standard definition paragraph about what Lion’s Gate is that you can find on every other spiritual/wellness site or practitioner page. You can read what it means HERE that I found when googling- Lion’s Gate 8/8.
I’m personally finding that this portal has become v spiritual mainstream wth this pressure to manifest. Pressure to harness this “potent energy” because of the star’s alignment and 8 numerology. When I tuned into my team when channeling the August forecast I heard to not specifically connect to the 8/8 energy this year as it’s too dense, heavy and not grounded enough.

From a practitioner point of view I feel there’s this pressure to share about every “spiritual” portal or moment of the year. Sharing because everyone else is, to keep your algorithm current or because you feel like you should. Even though you might not relate to it personally. In previous years I’ve felt fired up by 8/8 so have shared live events and channeled insight.
But this year I got a hard NO. So I listened and I’m sharing my thoughts with you.
Not so you shouldn’t manifest or do a ritual on 8/8 because I told you not to. But to inspire you to listen to your own intuition on what feels right for you.
You don’t need to do a ritual, spell, honouring, manifestation practice, vision board because you feel obliged to or that you must. In fact those are the times to step away, pause and just be where you’re at.
So some inspiration for today, take a pause and a moment to connect with your own intuition. To really feel into your physical, emotional and spiritual body and ask “ Is it aligned for me to connect and work with this 8/8 energy? Where am I at today?”.
How do you connect to your intuition to do this. Shut your eyes and ask out loud or in your head. Take a walk in nature. Ask in the shower. Ask the question like you’re asking yourself if you want to go out with friends tonight.
Give yourself permission to show up how you need to today. Not because some spiritual/wellness site or practitioner told you you need to, to manifest your dreams/desires for the rest of 2024. Because that’s bullshit. You do you.
